Isaiah 53:10-12
-
[Isa 53:12] Darkly Rose The Guilty Morning
Darkly rose the guilty morning,
When, the King of glory scorning,
Raged the fierce Jerusalem;
See the Christ, His cross upbearing,
See Him stricken, spit on, wearing
The thorn-plated diadem.Not the crowd whose cries assailed Him,
Nor the hands that rudely nailed Him,
Slew Him on the cursèd tree;
Ours the sin from Heav’n that called Him,
Ours the sin whose burden galled Him
In the sad Gethsemane.For our sins, of glory emptied,
He was fasting, lone, and tempted,
He was slain on Calvary;
Yet He for His murderers pleaded;
Lord, by us that prayer is needed,
We have pierced, yet trust in Thee.In our wealth and tribulation,
By Thy precious cross and passion,
By Thy blood and agony,
By Thy glorious resurrection,
By Thy Holy Ghost’s protection,
Make us Thine eternally.Play source: Cyberhymnal
Isaiah 53:1
-
[Isa 53:1] How Few Receive With Cordial Faith
How few receive with cordial faith
The tidings which we bring?
How few have seen the arm revealed
Of Heav’n’s eternal King?The Savior comes! no outward pomp
Bespeaks His presence nigh;
No earthly beauty shines in Him
To draw the carnal eye.Fair as a beauteous tender flower
Amidst the desert grows,
So slighted by a rebel race
The heav’nly Savior rose.Rejected and despised of men,
Behold a Man of woe!
Grief was His close companion still
Through all His life below.Yet all the griefs He felt were ours,
Ours were the woes He bore:
Pangs, not His own, His spotless soul
With bitter anguish tore.We held Him as condemned by Heav’n,
An outcast from His God,
While for our sins He groaned, He bled,
Beneath His Father’s rod.His sacred blood hath washed our souls
From sin’s polluted stain;
His stripes have healed us, and His death
Revived our souls again.We all, like sheep, had gone astray
In ruin’s fatal road:
On Him were our transgressions laid;
He bore the mighty load.Wronged and oppressed how meekly He
In patient silence stood!
Mute, as the peaceful harmless lamb,
When brought to shed its blood.Who can His generation tell?
From prison see Him led!
With impious show of law condemned,
And numbered with the dead.’Midst sinners low in dust He lay;
The rich a grave supplied:
Unspotted was His blameless life;
Unstained by sin He died.Yet God shall raise His head on high,
Though thus He brought Him low;
His sacred offering, when complete,
Shall terminate His woe.For, saith the Lord, My pleasure then
Shall prosper in His hand;
His shall a numerous offspring be,
And still His honors stand.His soul, rejoicing, shall behold
The purchase of His pain;
And all the guilty whom He saved
Shall bless Messiah’s reign.He with the great shall share the spoil,
And baffle all His foes;
Though ranked with sinners, here He fell,
A Conqueror He rose.He died to bear the guilt of men,
That sin might be forgiv’n:
He lives to bless them and defend,
And plead their cause in Heav’n.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:1] I’ve Believed The True Report
I’ve believed the true report,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!
I have passed the outer court,
O glory be to God!
I am all on Jesus’ side,
On the altar sanctified,
To the world and sin I’ve died,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!Refrain
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I have passed the riven veil,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!
By the cleansing of the blood,
O glory be to God!
By the Spirit’s power and light,
I am living day and night,
In the holiest place so bright,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!Refrain
I have passed the outer veil,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!
Which did once God’s light conceal,
O glory be to God!
But the blood has brought me in
To God’s holiness so clean,
Where there’s death to self and sin,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!Refrain
I’m within the holiest pale,
Hallelujah to the Lamb!

[Isa 53:1] Zion’s King Shall Reign Victorious
Zion’s King shall reign victorious,
All the earth shall own His sway;
He will make His kingdom glorious,
He will reign through endless day.
What though none on earth assist Him,
God requires not help from man;
What though all the world resist Him,
God will realize His plan.Nations now from God estrangèd,
Then shall see a glorious light,
Night to day shall then be changèd,
Heaven shall triumph in the sight;
See the ancient idols falling!
Worshipped once, but now abhorred;
Men on Zion’s King are calling,
Zion’s King by all adored.Then shall Israel, long dispersèd,
Mourning seek the Lord their God,
Look on Him whom once they piercèd,
Own and kiss the chastening rod;
Then all Israel shall be savèd,
War and tumult then shall cease,

[Rev 3:8] Today Thy Mercy Calls Me
Today Thy mercy calls me to wash away my sin;
However great my trespass, whate’er I may have been;
However long from mercy I may have turned away,
Thy blood, O Christ, can cleanse me, and make me white today.Today Thy gate is open, and all who enter in
Shall find a Father’s welcome, and pardon for their sin;
The past shall be forgotten, a present joy be given;
A future grace be promised, a glorious crown in Heav’n.Today the Father calls me, the Holy Spirit waits,
The blessèd angels gather around the heav’nly gates;
No question will be asked me, how often I have come;
Although I oft have wandered, it is my Father’s home.O all embracing mercy, thou ever open door,
What shall I do without thee when heart and eyes run o’er?
When all things seem against me, to drive me to despair,
I know one gate is open, one ear will hear my prayer.Play source: Cyberhymnal

Behold, a Stranger at the door!
He gently knocks, has knocked before,
Has waited long, is waiting still:
You treat no other friend so ill.O lovely attitude! He stands
With melting heart and laden hands;
O matchless kindness! and He shows
This matchless kindness to His foes.But will He prove a Friend indeed?
He will; the very Friend you need;

With garments dyed on Calvary.Rise, touched with gratitude divine;
Turn out His enemy and thine,
That soul destroying monster, sin,
And let the heavenly Stranger in.Admit Him, for the human breast
Ne’er entertained so kind a Guest;

If you would enter the mansions of rest,

[Rev 3:20] O Jesus, Thou Art Standing
O Jesus, Thou art standing, outside the fast closed door,
In lowly patience waiting to pass the threshold o’er:
Shame on us, Christian brothers, His Name and sign who bear,
O shame, thrice shame upon us, to keep Him standing there!O Jesus, Thou art knocking; and lo, that hand is scarred,
And thorns Thy brow encircle, and tears Thy face have marred:
O love that passeth knowledge, so patiently to wait!
O sin that hath no equal, so fast to bar the gate!O Jesus, Thou art pleading in accents meek and low,
“I died for you, My children, and will you treat Me so?”
O Lord, with shame and sorrow we open now the door;
Dear Savior, enter, enter, and leave us nevermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

He Who died on Calvary,
He Who standeth, knocking, waiting,
Pleading with you tenderly.Refrain
Room for Jesus, room for Jesus,
Let Him in your heart today,
Throwing every window open,
O receive Him while you may.We have room for worldly pleasures,
Cares of life crowd every day,
And our hearts and minds are burdened
While the Lord is turned away.Refrain
Will you not make room for Jesus,
For the Christ, the Crucified?
Is there not some place to enter
In the soul for which He died?Refrain
Room and time and thought for Jesus,
Hasten to accept His grace
Ere the heart grows cold and careless,
And His pleading voice shall cease.Refrain

Worn with the world’s fruitless striving for peace;
Tired with a night-watch that knoweth no morning,
Sick with a heartache that earth cannot ease.Refrain
Jesus is seeking; Jesus is calling;
Will you not come to Him now?
Jesus is knocking; Jesus is waiting,
Waiting to save you now.Jesus is waiting, He standeth and knocketh,
Calling in love unto each one oppressed?
“Come unto Me, sinner, weary and laden;
I will receive you and give you My rest.Refrain

Stay not to think, but come just as you are.
Bring nothing with you, for love giveth freely,
Peace—perfect peace—that no sorrow can mar.Refrain

Death did I suffer that you might be free.
Will you not come, and by life consecration,
Try to win others, and bring them to Me?”Refrain

[Rev 3:20] Shall I Be Saved Tonight?
Jesus is pleading with my poor soul, shall I be saved tonight?
If I believe, He will make me whole, shall I be saved tonight?
Tenderly, sadly, I hear Him say, “How can you grieve me from day to day?”
Shall I go on in the old, old way, or shall I be saved tonight?Jesus was nailed to the cross for me, shall I be saved tonight?
How can my heart so ungrateful be? Shall I be saved tonight?
Now He will save me by grace divine. Now, if I will, I can call Him mine.
Can I the pleasures of earth resign? Oh shall I be saved tonight?Jesus is knocking at my poor heart, shall I be saved tonight?
What if His Spirit should now depart? Shall I be saved tonight?
Over and over His voice I hear, sweetly it falls on my listening ear,
Shall I reject Him, a friend so dear? Oh shall I be saved tonight?What if that voice I should hear no more, shall I be saved tonight?
Quickly I’ll open this bolted door. Save me, O Lord, tonight.
Blessèd Redeemer, come in, come in, pity my sorrow, forgive my sin.
Now let Thy work in my soul begin, for I will be saved tonight.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought,
Since Jesus came into my heart!Refrain
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul

And my sins, which were many, are all washed away,
Since Jesus came into my heart!Refrain
I’m possessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!Refrain

Since Jesus came into my heart!
And the gates of the City beyond I can see,
Since Jesus came into my heart!Refrain
I shall go there to dwell in that City, I know,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And I’m happy, so happy, as onward I go,
Since Jesus came into my heart!Refrain

[Rev 3:20] Slighted Stranger, The
A Stranger stands outside the door,
And longs thy Guest to be;
He knows thy name, for o’er and o’er
He softly calls to thee!
His hands are pierced, His brow is torn,
His face is sad, but sweet—
It is the Lord of Paradise!
Arise, thy Savior greet.Refrain
He was wounded for thy transgressions;
He was bruisèd for thy sin;
Yet He stands at thy heart’s door pleading,
Why, O why not let Him in?From lonely, dark Gethsemane,
Thru Pilate’s hall of shame,
Up over cruel Calvary,
To thee in love He came!
Despised! Rejected! Crucified!
O love, O grace unknown,
That He should still remember thee,
And claim thee for His own!Refrain
Yet still He waits and calls to thee,
Although ye scarce can hear
The pleading voice, so often has
It fallen on thine ear:
O soul, arise and let Him in,
Lest from the bolted door
In sorrow He should turn away,
To call for thee no more.Refrain

If thou wilt heed My calling,
I will abide with thee.”Lonely without He’s staying;

While I am still delaying,
