Joshua 14:8-9

14:8 My countrymen ¹  who accompanied ²  me frightened the people, ³  but I remained loyal to the Lord my God. ⁴  14:9 That day Moses made this solemn promise: ⁵  ‘Surely the land on which you walked ⁶  will belong to you and your descendants permanently, ⁷  for you remained loyal to the Lord your God.’

14:1 The following is a record of the territory assigned to the Israelites in the land of Canaan by Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the Israelite tribal leaders. ⁸
