  2. Bunda Put'ra Tunggal Allah disebut "yang berbahagia" kini sangat bersedih. Hatinya dirundung duka, kar'na Put'ra yang termulia bersengsara di salib.	Luk 1:28, 42
  3. O siapa tidak pilu menyaksikan bunda Kristus menangisi Put'ranya? Dan siapa tak tergugah menyelami duka bunda Dalam siksa Anaknya?
  4. Dilihatnya Yesus, Put'ra, yang tersiksa dan terluka kar'na dosa umatNya dan bergumul sendirian menghadapi kematian menyerahkan nyawaNya.
  5. Wahai bunda, sumber kasih, biar turut kuhayati dukamu yang mencekam; biar hatiku bernyala mengasihi Put'ra Allah dan padaNya berkenan.
  6. Biarlah sengsara aib dari Dia yang tersalib tersemat di hatiku; yang ditanggungNya bagiku kudekap bersamamu.
  7. Biar aku disampingmu pilu kar'na wafat Kristus di sepanjang hidupku; inilah keinginanku: di dekat salib Put'ramu besertamu tersedu.
  8. O perawan yang terpilih, perkenankan aku ini ikut dikau bersedih; biar kematian Tuhan dan darahNya yang tercurah kukenangkan tak henti.
  9. Biar aku pun terluka, menghayati salib Tuhan, digerakkan kasihNya. Hatiku engkau kobarkan; biar aku dibebaskan dalam penghakimanNya.
  10. Biarlah salib Tuhanku jadi benteng naunganku dan kurasa rahmatNya. Bila nanti aku mati, biar aku mewarisi kemuliaan yang baka.

  When sinners see their lost condition And feel the pressing load of sin, And Jesus cometh on His mission To heal the sin-sick heart within, All grief must flee before His grace, And joy divine will take its place. When Jesus enters meek and lowly To fill the home with sweetest peace; When hearts have felt His blessing holy And found from sin complete release, Then light and calm within shall reign And hearts divided love again.   How oft, O Lord, Thy face hath shone On doubting souls whose wills were true! Thou Christ of Cephas and of John, Thou art the Christ of Thomas, too. He loved Thee well, and calmly said “Come, let us go, and die with Him”; Yet when Thine Easter news was spread, ’Mid all its light his eyes were dim.   We have not seen, we cannot see, The happy land above, From sin and death and suffering free, Where all is peace and love. We only see the path is long By which we have to go; We only feel the foes are strong Who seek to work us woe. We have not seen, we cannot see The cross our Master bore, With all its pains, that we might be The slaves of sin no more.
