Psalms 40:8

  1. Pengikut Kristus, nyanyilah, berdendang dan menari, terhibur oleh kurnia bersatu dalam kasih: Terang Ilahi berseri, yang dari sorga diberi; harganya paling mahal.
  2. Si jahat dan kuasa maut membuatku binasa. 'Ku lahir dalam kemelut, tersiksa oleh dosa. Semakin aku terjerat: celaka aku yang sesat, dirasuk kejahatan.	Mzm 51:6-7 2 Tim 2:26

• [Psa 1:2] Blest Is He Who Loves God’s Precepts

  Blest is he who loves God’s precepts, Who from sin restrains his feet, He who will not stand with sinners, He who shuns the scorners’ seat. Blest is he who makes the statutes Of the Lord his chief delight, In God’s law, divinely perfect, Meditating day and night. He is like a tree well planted By the flowing river’s side, Ever green of leaf and fruitful: Thus shall all his works abide. Like the driven chaff the wicked Shall be swept from off the land With the just they shall not gather, Nor shall in the judgment stand. Well the Lord will guard the righteous, For their way to Him is known; But the way of evildoers Shall by Him be overthrown.

Psalms 19:8-10

• [Psa 19:8] I Love The Volumes Of Thy Word

  I love the volumes of Thy Word; What light and joy those leaves afford To souls benighted and distressed! Thy precepts guide my doubtful way, Thy fear forbids my feet to stray, Thy promise leads my heart to rest. From the discoveries of Thy law The perfect rules of life I draw; These are my study and delight: Not honey so invites the taste, Nor gold that hath the furnace past Appears so pleasing to the sight. Thy threat’nings wake my slumb’ring eyes, And warn me where my danger lies; But ’tis Thy blessèd Gospel, Lord, That makes my guilty conscience clean, Converts my soul, subdues my sin, And gives a free, but large reward. Who knows the errors of his thoughts? My God, forgive my secret faults, And from presumptuous sins restrain: Accept my poor attempts of praise, That I have read Thy book of grace, And book of nature, not in vain.

• [Psa 19:8] Law Of God Is Good And Wise, The

  The law of God is good and wise, And sets His will before our eyes, Shows us the way of righteousness, And dooms to death when we transgress. Its light of holiness imparts The knowledge of our sinful hearts, That we may see our lost estate And seek deliverance ere too late. To those who help in Christ have found And would in works of love abound It shows what deeds are His delight And should be done as good and right. When men the offered help disdain And willfully in sin remain, Its terror in their ear resounds And keeps their wickedness in bounds. The law is good, but since the fall Its holiness condemns us all; It dooms us for our sin to die And has no power to justify. To Jesus we for refuge flee, Who from the curse has set us free, And humbly worship at His throne, Saved by His grace through faith alone.

  Lord, as Thou wilt, deal Thou with me; No other wish I cherish; In life and death I cling to Thee; Oh, do not let me perish! Let not Thy grace from me depart And grant an ever patient heart To bear what Thou dost send me. Grant honor, truth, and purity, And love Thy Word to ponder; From all false doctrine keep me free, Bestow, both here and yonder, What serves my everlasting bliss; Preserve me from unrighteousness Throughout my earthly journey. When, at Thy summons, I must leave This vale of sin and sadness, Give me Thy grace, Lord, not to grieve, But to depart with gladness.   A glory gilds the sacred page, Majestic like the sun; It gives a light to every age; It gives, but borrows none. The Spirit breathes upon the Word And brings the truth to sight; Precepts and promises afford A sanctifying light. The hand that gave it still supplies The gracious light and heat; His truths upon the nations rise; They rise, but never set. Let everlasting thanks be Thine For such a bright display. As makes a world of darkness shine With beams of heavenly day. My soul rejoices to pursue The steps of Him I love, Till glory breaks upon my view In brighter worlds above.

  Upon the Gospel’s sacred page The gathered beams of ages shine; And, as it hastens, every age But makes its brightness more divine. On mightier wing, in loftier flight, From year to year does knowledge soar; And, as it soars, the Gospel light Becomes effulgent more and more. More glorious still, as centuries roll, New regions blest, new powers unfurled, Expanding with the expanding soul, Its radiance shall o’er flow the world.   We love the good old Bible, The glorious Word of God, The lamp for those who travel O’er all life’s dreary road.   Father, make us loving, gentle, thoughtful, kind; Fill us with Thy Spirit, make us of Thy mind. Help us love each other, more and more each day, Help us follow Jesus, in the narrow way.
