  There is singing up in Heaven such as we have never known, Where the angels sing the praises of the Lamb upon the throne, Their sweet harps are ever tuneful, and their voices always clear, O that we might be more like them while we serve the Master here! Refrain Holy, holy, is what the angels sing, And I expect to help them make the courts of heaven ring; But when I sing redemption’s story, they will fold their wings, For angels never felt the joys that our salvation brings. But I hear another anthem, blending voices clear and strong, “Unto Him Who hath redeemed us and hath bought us,” is the song; We have come through tribulation to this land so fair and bright, In the fountain freely flowing He hath made our garments white.   O ye immortal throng of angels round the throne, Join with our feeble song, to make the Savior known: On earth ye knew His wondrous grace; His glorious face in Heav’n ye view. Ye saw the Heav’n-born Child in human flesh arrayed, Benevolent and mild while in the manger laid: And “Praise to God, and peace on earth,” For such a birth, proclaimed aloud.   A thousand oracles divine Their common beams unite, That sinners may with angels join To worship God aright. To praise a Trinity adored By all the hosts above, And one thrice holy God and Lord Through endless ages love. Triumphant host! they never cease To laud and magnify The Triune God of holiness, Whose glory fills the sky. Whose glory to this earth extends, When God Himself imparts, And the whole Trinity descends Into our faithful hearts.   Life and strength of all Thy servants, Brightness of the Father’s light; Men with angels, earth with Heaven, In Thy praise their songs unite. Thousand thousand warrior princes In Thine angel army stand; Flames the victor Cross before them, Grasped in Michael’s dauntless hand. Hurling back from Heav’n the rebels With the lifting of his sword, In the might of God he tramples On the dragon’s head abhorred.
