This probably refers to a sort of indefinable awe which the apostles began to feel for Jesus, which the mighty miracles he wrought, and the air of majesty and authority he now assumed, were calculated to inspire.

Luke says that this took place "as he was come nigh unto Jericho," and afterwards records an event which took place in that city.
